Great news, from Saturday 16th May we will be opening Beechcroft TC for tennis use only, Senior members with a key will be granted access and be allowed to bring 1 other person from outside the household or more if it is same family members. We have attached the LTA guidelines and we ask you to read them thoroughly before you start using the club.
Tennis Court usage/court bookings/building work (fencing)
We are expecting a high demand for use of the courts over the coming days and weeks. With this in mind, all courts must be booked in advance through Matthew Corp on mobile: 07930164811. This will avoid crowds of people and disappointment if the court is already in use. If you would like to be part of the court booking WhatsApp group again please contact Matt.
From Monday 18th May for up to 3 weeks the club will be out of use between the hours of 9.00am -4.30pm Monday – Friday (not including weekends) this is because the club is having a brand new state of the art fencing system fitted. We will also unfortunately be down to 1 court booking (1 hour maximum duration) for most of this time, regular updates will be posted as this changes. Once the fencing system is finished we will be back to more courts and more week day usage.
We understand this is frustrating as we start to come out of some form of lock down but this work must be completed to save on future disruption to the club. The work had started, as planned, prior to lock down but unfortunately the contractors had to halt the works due to the virus.
Tennis Balls & Equipment
We will not be providing any social tennis balls in the club and we are now asking any members to bring, and take home, their own balls and any equipment, to reduce risk of infection.
We will however have tennis balls outside the pavilion from this Saturday which you may help yourselves to and take 1 tin per person.
Please make sure you bring your own tennis rackets and please make sure you collect all your tennis balls at the end of your court time, thank you.
Use of clubhouse
All group sessions are cancelled in all sports with no exceptions (Indoor/Outdoor)
As per the latest Government guidelines the clubhouse is closed and is not to be used for any sport in any circumstances. That includes table tennis, irrespective of how many people go to play.
However, we are classed as a ‘private outdoor safe space’ so therefore one 2 one coaching will now resume in a controlled environment (Contact Matt for private tennis bookings)
With regards to this controlled environment we are allowing use of the courts at Beechcroft, via prior booking only, with the following restrictions.
* Only 2 people per court (up to 4 if direct family members living together).
* As previously stated no access to clubhouse (other than to retrieve key for courts, toilet access & washing your hands)
* Bring your own refreshments
* Due to the current ever-changing picture there is a maximum advanced booking time of 24 hours.
* Evening bookings would require players to pay a charge for floodlights (£6 per hour .. £1 coins inserted into machines inside clubhouse)
Court bookings are free to members but would be subject to the same floodlight charges in the evening.
If a member brings a non-member then there will be £4 booking fee for the non member.
Contact Matt on 07930164811 to book your court.
TO REITERATE: All attendance at the club needs to be authorised and must be pre-booked.
We have had a number of kind offers for financial support during this time and we are very appreciative of these kind gestures. What we would like to ask is that people just renew their membership, or join the club if you are not already a member. We understand that it may be a while before we can get up and running properly but our bills will not cease and the club purely runs on your membership support. I thank all those that have renewed their membership so far.
Any questions on membership or to renew contact Lucy on 07956687546 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Finally, I would just like to show my support as Chairman of Beechcroft on saying that I strongly believe we will all come out of this stronger as a club and I honestly think some good will have come from this lock down including appreciating the freedom we are all so use to and just maybe we will all enjoy our sports and socialising just that little bit more.
